Seeking His Presence  -  Building His Kingdom  -  Sharing His Love

WHAT WE BELIEVE

What we believe in as a church is crucial to how we do church.
We first and foremost believe in Jesus and that He changes lives through grace and salvation.

God

  • We believe there is only one true God who is the eternal King, Creator and Redeemer of all that is. He is perfectly holy, just, loving and truthful. He has revealed Himself to be eternally self-existent - one being in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. (Isaiah 43:10-11; Genesis 1:1; Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; Luke 3:22).

WHAT WE BELIEVE

Jesus

  • We believe the Lord Jesus Christ, the one and only Son of God, was conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, and is God’s Anointed One, empowered by the Holy Spirit to inaugurate God’s Kingdom on earth. He was crucified for our sins, died, was buried, resurrected and ascended into heaven, and is now alive today, in the presence of God the Father and in His people. He is true God and true man. (Matthew 1:23, Luke 1:31, 35; Hebrews 7:26; 1 Corinthians 15:3, 2 Corinthians 5:21; Matthew 28:6, 1 Corinthians 6:14, 15:4; Acts 1:9, 11, 2:33; Hebrews 1:3)

We believe the redemptive work of Christ on the cross provides victory over the power of the enemy by freeing us from sin, lies, sickness and torment. (Isaiah 53:4-6; Matthew 8:16-17; James 5:14-16)

WHAT WE BELIEVE

Holy Spirit

  • We believe in the sanctifying power of the Holy Spirit, by whose in-dwelling the Christian is enabled to live a holy life and minister supernaturally. The baptism of the Holy Spirit according to Acts 1:4-8 and 2:4 is poured out on believers that they might have God’s power to be His witnesses. (Romans 12:1-2; 1 Thessalonians 5:23; Hebrews 13:12)

The Bible

  • We believe the Bible to be the inspired and only infallible and authoritative Word of God. (2 Timothy 3:15-17; 1 Thessalonians 2:13, 2 Peter 1:21)

WHAT WE BELIEVE

The plan for Man

  • We believe humankind was created in the image of God to know and enjoy Him, yet we willfully rejected the lordship and glory of God for which we were intended. Because of this, sickness, death and judgment entered the world and now creation experiences the effects and consequences of sin. (Genesis 1:26-27, 2:17, 3:6; Romans 5:12-19)

We believe we are saved by God’s grace, through faith in the person and work of Jesus Christ. Anyone can be restored to fellowship with God through repenting, believing and receiving Jesus as their Savior and Lord. The Holy Spirit convicts, regenerates, justifies, and adopts us as we enter the Kingdom of God as His sons and daughters. (Luke 24:47; John 3:3; Romans 10:13-15; Ephesians 2:8; Titus 2:11, 3:5-7)

WHAT WE BELIEVE

The Church

  • We believe the Church consists of all who put their faith in Jesus Christ. He gave His Church the ordinances of Baptism and Communion. The Church exists to carry on the ministry of Jesus Christ and further advance His kingdom by destroying the works of the enemy, preaching and living the good news of God’s love, discipling the nations, baptizing and teaching them to love and obey God.  (Mark 16:16; Acts 10:47-48; Romans 6:4; 1 Corinthians 11:26; 2 Peter 1:4; Matthew 28:19, Ephesians 4:12)

The blessed hope

  • We believe in the ever-increasing government of God and in the Blessed Hope, which is the glorious visible return of the Lord Jesus Christ to rule and reign with His overcoming bride – the Church. (Romans 8:23; 1 Corinthians 15:51-52; 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17; Titus 2:13)  We believe heaven and hell are real places. There will be a resurrection of the saved and the lost, the one to everlasting life and the other to everlasting death. (Matthew 25:46; Mark 9:43-48; Revelation 19:20, 20:11-15, 21:8)

STAFF AND LEADERSHIP

Bart thompson

LEAD PASTOR
After graduating from NCU, I served as a youth pastor at a few locations including Inver Hills Church, where I then transitioned to Lead Pastor. While serving on staff at IHC for over 30 years, the church has become family. I have a heart for missions, a passion for the lost, a desire for the church to experience God's presence, and a calling to to lead others towards an encounter with Jesus.

When I'm not in the office, you can find me ministering to the wildlife on the lake or from a tree stand.

LISA KAUFENBERG

ASSOCIATE & FAMILY PASTOR
Called into the ministry as a teenager at a winter retreat, I graduated from NCU with a degree in youth ministry. Since then I have served in various roles in the church, including youth, associate, and children's ministry. I have a passion to see kids and their families experience the love of God and am excited to be serving at Inver Hills Church along with my husband Scott and our daughters Macey and Allie. Our family enjoys fishing together and are also board game enthusiasts! A recent favorite: Wordsearch!
